A Doctor Supervised

Personal Fitness Program

Are You Having Trouble Getting Fit? We can help!

While most of us know the importance of physical fitness, sometimes achieving it can seem like an insurmountable hurdle.

You may not know where to start and have questions such as:

  • What is the right exercise program for me?
  • How long and often should I exercise?
  • How can I prevent injury?
  • What’s the best way to burn fat so that I can lose weight?

The Solution? A Personalized, Doctor Supervised Fitness Program

Individualized programs have the best success because they are created for you and your body type. There are 3 steps the doctors at Root Cause Medical Clinic’s Fitness Department use to develop your programs:

  1. A Fitness Evaluation is performed by our Doctor of physical therapy who will evaluate:
    • structural balance
    • cardiovascular fitness
    • muscle strength

2. A Physical Evaluation is performed by our medical staff to assess any limitations due to your current health status.

3.  A tailor-made program is created to restore you to a healthy level of optimum physical fitness

Some patients prefer to do their fitness program here in our fitness department because they like being monitored by the physical therapy staff. Other patients receive their program and work on it on their own, returning for a monthly follow-up to assess progress.

Here’s how you can get started with Personal Fitness

Whether you are a ‘couch potato’ who would like to get started on a program or an athlete who would like to improve your performance, we have a program to achieve your goals. The doctors at our fitness department work together as a team to create a program that you can do and stick to. If you follow our recommendations, you’ll be pleased with the results.

Physical Fitness increases longevity and prevents disease

Here are more reasons to get serious about getting fit:

Moderate daily physical activity can substantially reduce the risk of developing or dying from heart disease, type 2 diabetes, and certain cancers, such as colon cancer.

Daily physical activity helps to:

  • lower blood pressure and cholesterol
  • prevent osteoporosis
  • reduce obesity
  • lessen symptoms of anxiety, depression and arthritis

Heart disease is the leading cause of death in the United States. Physically inactive people are twice as likely to develop heart disease as active people.

Scientists urge Americans “to make the simple lifestyle changes of eating healthy food, getting regular physical activity, and maintaining a healthy weight to reduce cancer risk.” (2011 study)

Physical activity is recommended for people of all ages as a means to reduce risks for certain types of cancers.

37% of adults report they are not physically active and only 3 in 10 adults get the recommended amount of physical activity.

More than 10 percent of children between the ages of 2 and 5 are overweight.

25% of U.S. children spend 4 hours or more watching television daily.

The percentage of students in high school who engaged in moderate physical activity for at least 30 minutes on 5 or more of the previous 7 days was only 25%.
